I was born in the 50’s in Durham, North Carolina. My mother’s parents worked in a cotton mill and my father’s parents lived on a tobacco farm. To escape the farm and the mill my parents bought a house on wheels. When I was four my dad hitched our house to the car and we moved to Florida. My dad’s work took us to Georgia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. We settled in Haw River, NC when I was nine.
I’ve been telling stories to children for over thirty years. I’ve worked with children in many libraries including: May Memorial Library in Burlington, NC, Elon Elementary School in Elon, NC, Graham Middle School in Graham, NC, and Garrett Elementary School in Mebane, NC. Some of the stories I’ve shared were retold or read, but some were original. I am excited that children will be able to enjoy some of my stories in print.
