Libraries

When my son argued with me about research in the library vs. research on the Internet, I became outraged. Was he simply trying to get a rise out of his librarian/mother? If that was the case, it worked! What did I do in response? I made him a “library book” that he is required to read at least once each time he visits me. It is filled with quotes and mini posters promoting libraries. This is a sample page.Library book

And the Winner is…

Congratulations to Terri Spence!

“The best place to read a book is on my window seat , overlooking the ocean. My grandaughters like to sleep and read there too. The best of both worlds! I love it!”

“First Day of School”

The year was 1993. It was our oldest son’s first day of high school. Doesn’t he look excited? I think  the discouraged expression is intended for Mom: “Do you have to take a picture?” Our youngest son was all smiles for his first day of kindergarten. I wish I could have gotten a picture yesterday as they headed off to school again. This time gainfully employed. The oldest was on his way to Elon and the youngest headed to teach math at a high school. So very proud of them both!
