Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese

I dreaded closing the cover of this book. I didn’t want it to end. The characters in this story are well crafted and I became attached to them: twin brothers, Shiva and Marion,  Dr. Stone and Nurse Mary Joseph Praise, and Ghash and Hema. I found myself silently trying to guide them as they made some good choices and some bad ones.

Set mostly in an Ethiopian hospital, you travel to India and to New York City. This is a strong story of love and betrayal, a must read!

Has anyone read any good Southern Literature recently?  It’s my favorite.
